Hello to each of You:

I trust that each of you are doing well.  Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and then Christmas! I wanted to give each of you an opportunity to adopt a family individually or through your Auxiliary.  These families are connected to the MBSC of Missouri Project Village Program for children with incarcerated parents.  Although the partnership has ended with NBC,USA and the National Alliance for Faith and Justice, but we have chosen to continue servicing these families with resources and services.  Listed below are the families that made request, if you wish to adopt a family or help, I will connect you to the family or share the gifts from you or your auxiliary; your request.

1.   Two boys, ages 11&13- Beds are needed

2.  Three girls, ages 16, 14, 12 - underwear and tea shirts
one boy, age 12 - underwear and tea shirts

3.  Boy, age 10 - coat (14)

4.  Girl 16, Gift Cards, Clothing size 11-12,  (everything including underwear)

Ninth Annual Sheep and Shepherds Benefit Basketball Game

East St. Louis, Illinois, November 20, 2010 – The Baptist General State Convention of Illinois Laymen, under the leadership of President David Bozeman and The Missionary Baptist State Convention of Missouri Laymen, under the leadership of President Leno Blue, brought their respective Laymen and Ministers together for the ninth straight year to compete on the basketball court of East St. Louis, Senior High. Proceeds from this annual event benefit The Second Chance Homeless Shelter of East St. Louis.

Most of the participants and spectators at the game hailed from the St. Louis/East St. Louis metropolitan area and enjoyed some good clean fun and entertainment. In the first game, the “East Side” Laymen prevailed while the Shepherds from the “West Side” took home the honors. The real winners are the families able to receive shelter and services from the Second Chance Homeless Shelter as a result of the funds raised.
