The Antioch District Fall Accelerated Classes will be held at the True Light MBC at 2838 James Cool Papa Bell.  Classes will start at 9:00 am, cost each Saturday is $15.00, the following classes will be offered:

The Urban League is gearing up for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) winter season! We appreciate your help in sharing information with our LIHEAP clients.  FOR CITY RESIDENCE ONLY!!!!
 
We will have a Special LIHEAP Intake Event on
 
October 1 – 3 (Elderly and Disabled Households, ONLY) AND November 4 – 7 (All Other Households)
9 AM – 1 PM
Harris-Stowe State University – Emerson Performance Center Gymnasium
 (clients can follow signs @ Compton & Laclede directing them to parking and the gymnasium)
 
Urban League - LIHEAP assists low income families living in St. Louis City or Wellston with their gas AND electric bills (if applicable). St. Louis County LIHEAP clients may contact the Community Action Agency at 863-0015 or 446-4420 (2709 Woodson Road). The LIHEAP winter season begins on October 1st for elderly (60+) and/or disabled households, ONLY and in November for all other households and ends on May 31st (or until funds are expended).
 
LIHEAP clients may mail, fax or drop off their applications. They may drop off their applications to the Community Outreach Center (935 N. Vandeventer) between 9 AM and NOON; Monday – Thursday (no Fridays).
 
We will NOT be accepting LIHEAP applications at the Community Outreach Center on any of the Special LIHEAP Intake Event dates listed above – please direct clients to Harris-Stowe during these dates.
 
We will utilize our "virtual appointment" system for the winter. LIHEAP clients will be provided with a receipt that includes their receipt number and estimated processing date. As long as the client has a complete application and their bill is not excessive their application will be processed and/or pledged on or before their estimated processing date.

FREE Training Programs for Healthcare and Manufacturing Jobs!

Greetings!  I hope this note finds you doing well.  Representatives from the United Auto Workers Labor and Education Training Center will be at HealthStreet next Tuesday, September 17th from 1:00pm – 2:00pm to raise awareness about their new collaborative grants with St. Louis Community College to offer FREE education and training for jobs in the healthcare and manufacturing fields.

This presentation will be followed by a Job Seekers’ Workshop from 2:00pm – 4:00pm offered by St. Louis Area Training and Education (SLATE).

Please circulate to anyone who might be interested in this exciting opportunity.
