First Aid for Mental Health–Updated Times (Same Dates)

Mental Health First Aid Conference


Dear Church Leader:  This conference is a $150 value for FREE! 

PURPOSE: To increase mental health literacy in our communities and our churches. 

 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Pastors, Associate Pastors, Deacons,  Educators, Mission Members, Laymen,

Church Outreach/Evangelism teams, family members and anyone else with an interest in helping people with mental illness. We need 30 people to participate. 

 

WHAT: A 12 hour Mental Health First Aid Conference - two (2) six hour days.

            Facilitators: Pathways Community Behavior Healthcare,Inc.

  • This Conference teaches us how to deal with the following mental health problems: depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, and substance use disorders.  How to identify symptoms such as self-injury as a signal for help.   Crisis situations to be covered include suicidal behaviors, acute stress reaction after a recent trauma, panic attack, acute psychotic behavior, and drug overdose. 
  • Participants learn to use this "Mental Health First Aid Action Plan when witnessing and reaching out to individuals facing such issues. 

 Everyone is welcome to attend this conference sponsored by the Berean District Social Service Ministry. Please encourage someone from your church to attend this event because mental illness is present in every community and someone in your congregation has first hand knowledge of the effects of mental illness and can use your support.
