Abstinence Education; Safety, Teen Pregnancy Prevention, Emotional Wellness

Greetings -

I trust that all is well with you.  Effective July 8 through July 31, I wanted to share with you a youth development health and wellness program/ministry for the church that you may be interested entitled "Pause for the Cause."  The curriculum utilized is Choosing the Best - www.choosingthebest.org .  The age ranges are 10-17 or 6th grade through 12th grade.  If you have a group of boys and girls that you would like to complete this 14 hour program, I will have time to train at least one group on a first come, first served basis; maybe two (2) if done at least three (3) times per week.  The age groups are as follows as it relates to training:

6th grade - Choosing the Best Way

7th grade - Choosing the Best Path

8th grade - Choosing the Best Life

9th & 10th grade - Choosing the Best Journey

11th and 12th - Choosing the Best Soul Mate

A mixture of children of all ages -- 12-17, Choosing the Best Life can be utilized

The program focuses on 100% abstinence; teen pregnancy prevention, safety from sexual transmitted diseases, emotional wellness, students and parent communication, and connection skills.  In addition, children will learn how to make good decisions, set goals, identify risks, and make commitments.  The key is abstain from sex until marriage and avoid drugs and alcohol which can lead to all of the above.

This would be a great youth ministry for your church during the Summer and excellent for youth academies and/or evenings.  Saturday are possible if this is the only time available.

I do look forward to working with you or your staff.

Forgot to mention, this is a free grant funded program through Lincoln University, Jefferson City, Missouri; received via Missouri State Department of Health and Senior Services; via U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.  I admonish all of my Christian Brothers and Sisters to take advantage of the programs as they are great ministries for the Church--

Yours In Christ

Linda Joyce Mackey
