Support Wholeheartedly Requested - Trivia Night Fund-Raiser, Friday, June 15, Regional Arts Commission, 7:00 PM

Greetings Christian Friends:- I trust that things are going great as you receive this email.

A flyer is attached (below) for your review.  I am requesting your financial support and/or presence at a fund-raiser for a non-profit organization that's being  developed focusing on community education, addressing social and human service needs for children, youth and families, including our beloved older Americans/Seniors.  As you know, this is a passion for me.  The non-profit name - Family Resources and Community Connections, Inc.  Currently, we are coordinating the Pen or Pencil Group Mentoring Program.  This is an evidenced, researched, curriculum and culturally based group mentoring program.  The curriculum is based  on history, education and sacrifices that were made for freedom and equality through slavery, underground railroad and the civil rights movement.  The purpose is to increase academic achievement/performances; crime reduction and anti-social behaviors in schools and the community.  We meet once per month on the 3rd Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00p.m. to minimize our volunteer group mentors' time.  This particular program is subcontracted through the National Alliance of Faith and Justice who was awarded a grant through the Department of Justice for "same race mentoring."    NAFJ is connected to the National Baptist Convention Prison Ministry.  In addition, NAFJ is also affiliated with the National Cares Mentoring Movement started by Susan Taylor  - The President of the United States is in support of Ms. Taylor's Program.

The tickets are $15 each or $120 per table of eight (8).  It would be an honor for you to purchase a table of eight (8) but I will accept any donation and/or your presence including donated prizes.  The doors will open at 6:30 on Friday, June 15 and close at 10:00 p.m.  The venue is the St. Louis Regional Arts Commission located at 6128 Delmar where I serve as a community arts alum/fellow (1998-99).  If you need additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me.  Donations can be mailed to the address below or I can pick them up - other arrangements can be made as well.

Thanks for all that you are doing to minister to the needs of others--
