Greetings to each of You:
We trust that this forwarded email finds you in great health and spirits. Again, we thank those of you that attended the disaster relief training held in April at New Sunny Mount; however, as indicated by the American Red Cross presenter, you only need to let us know that you are ready to move forward with the ceritification in becoming a disaster relief shelter (no finances out of the churches pocket). Only God knows when another tornado, storm or flood, possibly fire will hit us as a people. We are asking that you solidify the training in becoming a disaster relief shelter here in St. Louis, Missouri. Please provide your church and name to me or Rev. Griffin if you wish so we can provide the American Red Cross with this information. At that point, they will set up the appropriate times to finish the certification with a walk through of your church. If you need further direction, please contact us directly.
In addition, your name and church will be reported to the State Convention which will be held in St. Louis in October 2011. As you will see below, the National Director, Rev. Randy Vaughn is asking us to start a disaster relief fund. More information to come, but are asking that you set aside a specific amount that you would like for your church to donate. Finally, Rev. Griffin working with the Laymen and others are asking that we help to clean up Moline Acres. Currently, we are waiting on the Mayor and Red Cross for further direction. All help is needed as we hope to turn this into an Evangelistic opportunity. Stay tuned, stay ready. "The Harvest is plentious, but the Laborers are few."

Subject: Fwd: Message from our National Director Rev. Dr. Randy Vaughn
Brothers and Sisters of the most high God, I greet you in the matchless name of Jesus the Christ our risen Savior. In the wake of the recent disasters both here, Fort Leonard Wood and in Alabama we have truly experienced the devastation of a disaster which makes it imperative that we really get on our job and identify and establish shelters so that we can be disaster prepared for the next one and believe you me we are not yet out of the storm. We are only one disaster away from another one. Yes we as a National Convention we had the ministry of presence in Alabama and as a State Convention in St. Louis, but from the National Level we have been granted the opportunity thru our National president Dr. Julius Scruggs to do more. Read the message below from our National Director of disaster Relief Dr. Randy Vaughn. I am requesting that you share this information with your moderator and the pastors in your district to help fund the Disaster Relief Fund so the next time we not only will have the ministry of presence but will be able to supply the needs of the people in our community. If every church would take up an offering or send at least $100.00 dollars for this worthy cause Missouri would be well represented. Have all checks made out to the Missouri Baptist State Convention and in return the State Convention can write one check. I am asking and depending on you to make it happen and that you receive the checks so we can keep our records straight for accountability.
We are putting together a work force to go out into the community of Moline Acres to help with the clean-up in that area. I am working through the Layman and will keep you informed on the date as soon as I received requested information from the Mayor of said city.
Rev. Nathaniel Griffin Sr.
