Lance Berkman’s “Solomon” moment

Should be sleep but didn’t want to let this thought get away!

How many of us missed it during the heat of the moment. As we wondered over the Cardinals die-hard comeback from multiple deficits in game 6 of the World Series?

During the post game interviews, Lance Berkman said something similar to:

I am a Christian and I prayed during tonight’s (game 6) game and will pray during tomorrow’s (game 7) game. I don’t pray for a win, but for calm and the ability to make plays.

Like Solomon when God asked “what do you want” and he said – give me the tools to do the job you’ve put before me. We should all take notice of that and do likewise.

In just a few days over 60,000 people will be converging on St Louis, MO for the 104^th International Holy Convocation of the 6 million member Church Of God In Christ (COGIC).

On this coming Sunday, October 23, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. CST, Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake, Sr., will be sharing his God-given vision along with pertinent details about the Holy Convocation on the Life Center International COGIC Radio Program; it will air locally in St Louis on KATZ AM “Hallelujah” 1600 and globally on www.gospel1600.com.

In studio also will be all of COGIC’s area bishops: Bishop R. J. Ward, Bishop Lawrence M. Wooten and Bishop William Scott. Representatives from COGIC leadership will include: Pastor Edwin Bass (COGIC International Urban Initiatives) and Elder Edgar Madison, Jr. (Vice President, International Music Department.

Please take notice of the following:

The Communion and Baptism Service scheduled for Sunday, October 2, 2011 WILL take place.

We are aware that Rev. George Guy's Homegoing service will take place on Sunday at 4:00 p.m., therefore we will plan on the Communion and Baptism service to begin no later than 7:30 p.m.

The service will be held at New Covenant with harmony Baptist Church, 1888 Andros Ct. St. Louis MO 63136, Rev. James Winston Pastor, and speaker for the evening.

We received word today that Rev. Winston lost his daughter. Please keep Rev. & Sister Winston and their family in your prayers.
